Pubs:

The nearest bars, cafes, restaurants and pubs are situated in Royal Parade, Lygon Street and Sydney Road five-to-ten minutes walk from the ground.

Naughton's Pub in Royal Parade is a favourite drinking spot for Carlton folk, and convenient for a pre-game or post-match drink.

There's a strong Middle-Eastern flavour in Sydney Road, where the Turkish restaurants, in particular, do a bustling trade.

Italian bistros abound in Lygon Street, and serve pasta, wine or coffee.

Direcciones:
Optus Oval is situated in Princes Park, adjoining the Melbourne General Cemetery and Melbourne University, about 3 kilometres north of the Melbourne CBD. Its reasonably well-served by public transport from the city.

By Tram:
*Nos. 18 and 19 run north along Elizabeth Street, into Royal Parade, direct to Optus Oval. They are always packed, and there are never enough of them. Nos. 1 and 16 run north along Swanston Street, into Lygon Street. Alight at McPherson Street, just past the cemetery, and its a five minute walk to the ground.

By Train:
Catch the Upfield line train from Flinders or Spencer Street stations to Jewel Station. From there its a five minute walk to the ground.

By Car:
Theres ample car-parking available in Princes Park and Royal Park, but driving to Optus Oval is not without its hazards. As match-time draws near, the principal thoroughfare, Royal Parade becomes steadily clogged, and traffic commonly slows to a crawl in the hour before the opening bounce. Parking in surrounding streets is subject to stringent match-day restrictions and regularly patrolled by council by-laws officers. Flaunt the time limits at your own risk. If you plan to drive to Optus Oval, always give yourself more time than you think you need. When the weather is wet, large sections of Princes Park may be closed to car parking.
